At a reading Mindaugas Nastaravičius, the author of three collections of poems, is going to read his earlier but never published, never read out loud and new poems and tell about them to the Vilnius Pages audience. “Most probably we all have texts that we can’t finish – as if they have too little or too much of something. So far they are still drafts, not finished or not begun texts from my computer memory, poems from nowhere. One night I sat down and read everything. It turns out there are some good ones,” the author says.
Mindaugas Nastaravičius, a poet, playwright, journalist, has a degree in journalism and literary studies, was awarded the Zigmas Gėlė-Gaidamavičius Prize for the best debut of the year for his first collection of poems “Dėmėtų akių” (2010), the Young Jotvingis Prize for his second book “Mo” (2014), and Jurga Ivanauskaitė Literary Prize for his third collection of poems “Bendratis” (2018). Beside poems, Mindaugas Nastaravičius writes plays, stage adaptations, and cooperates with various Lithuanian theatres. He was awarded the Golden Stage Cross for his plays in 2015. He has recently been working on the series of multimedia stories about Lithuanian towns, settlements, villages, and farm-steads, titled “100 Lietuvių” (www.100lietuvų.lt). He has been working as a producer and radio host for the LRT (Lithuanian National Radio and Television) since 2005.
