Director Gintaras Varnas became famous in 1988 when he established the Shepa theater and directed it until 1992. Since the spring of 2004 until the end of 2007 he worked as an art director of Kaunas Drama Theater. In 2008 he established the theater Utopia. Varnas directed plays in The State Youth Theatre, State Small Theatre of Vilnius, Lithuanian National Drama Theatre, National Kaunas Drama Theatre, Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre, Latvian National Opera. G. Varnas is an adept ornithologist and an active ecologist.
